Yo Soy LOLA

Yo Soy LOLA (Latinas Orgullosas de Las Artes) was a scholarship initiative for Latina-identifying MA artists and a movement to reclaim the Latina narrative through artistic platforms. Led 2019-2021, Yo Soy LOLA worked to raise awareness of the multidimensional Latina experience and build a platform for Latinas in the arts to change narratives.

The Project

Yo Soy LOLA curated yearly multimodal performance art experiences throughout the Boston/Cambridge area showcasing Latinas in the arts via spoken word, acting, dance, music, film, and more.

Scholarships

LOLA raised scholarship funds for Latinx youth pursuing higher education in the arts with goals that directly impact their communities. During its run, it awarded ten scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each since its inception.
